Today we’re going to do a deep dive case study behind the scenes look at a few examples of ZMOT the Zero Moment of Truth because face it people will Google us before they call us and you know you and I both do it every single day. Right. I mean how many times have we looked to connect with someone and then we Google them and we want to see what’s been going on and people do the same thing to us. So what happens when they Google your name and your company your brand name and your company what do they see do they see something trustworthy. Do they see where you are being an advocate and educator to people like them about the industry.

Are they seeing that your brand is speaking with an authoritative voice…. not a sales pushy voice but a educational voice.  And when you have that, that becomes your “Google resume” it becomes breadcrumbs out there online.  So let’s just take two or three examples here of some live case studies and this take a look here real quick so take a look here at this search.

Jessie Miller is president of Integrity Enterprises and you know as much as we might not like to admit this but people Google us before they contact us. It’s just the way it goes because you do it. I do it right. So think about your prospects that might meet you at a networking function or see you speak on a web or see one of your Facebook lives or anything you do out there. Maybe you have a call to action to have them connect with you but guess what’s happening. They’re Googling you. And the predominant thing they’re doing is Googling your name and your company. They’re not Googling keywords. You know you may be paying a search engine optimization company to optimize your Web site for certain keywords. That’s a whole different strategy. But the first thing- the most important thing- you need to be addressing is what people see when they Google you and your company.

So the very first thing we see here is this jumps right out at us it’s the thumbnail from YouTube and it’s the Business Innovators Radio Network it’s an interview that he did on his podcast that I produced for him on Business Innovators Radio Network. So this jumps right out at you if someone was Googling him they’d go- oh let me check that out. And then of course his Web site. Wonderful. Then here’s a press release. We’ll open that up here for a second. Another press release. Here’s one of his interviews. Let’s just take a peek at this one. So here’s you know a press release and this has a link to his Web site. But the beautiful thing is it’s indexed on Google.

And then here is my interview with him. And then let’s take a look at this one here because the other thing that you want to look at is his interviews. So this is some powerful positioning when people are searching for you. Let’s take another example here Dom is a client. He’s an executive coach and leadership speaker so people may just Google his name. You know it’s a unique name so they may just Google that name. You know Jesse Miller or Tom Jones or Betty Johnson you know some basic names you might get a lot indexed there so that’s where people Google  additionally their business.  Dom Faussette-we have his Linked-In wonderful- book that I published for him. Got another link of his book that’s wonderful there. Now we’ve got that YouTube thumbnail that jumped right out at us right on page 1 of Google. Here’s the Business Innovators Radio Network where I interviewed him so that’s excellent. Here’s a press release another press release so again just right there front and center on page 1 of Google.

Then finally let’s take a peek here. Henry Kaminski with Unique Designs. Many of you may know him and of his work. He’s a spectacular designer and the interesting thing with Henry Kaminski is there’s a Henry Kaminski that is a doctor, and when I first Googled Henry’s name we saw a lot of doctor references. But here now we’ve got Henry’s Web site excellent. We’ve got the thumbnail. We’ve got an interview that he did on some other podcast. Great. He’s out there getting stuff done right. And then here’s his Business Innovators Radio Network. He’s got a podcast that I produce for him and then here is another one. And there’s another one of his web sites press release I did, Linkedin. Excellent. Look at this one. His podcast is getting picked up by iHeart radio. So this is beautiful because look at this one here again we’re coming back over to your Google resume. Boy this is pretty prestigious to have your iHeart Radio podcast with your name linked to that pretty big. And then again player FM another podcast platform outlet. So every single time he is doing a podcast episode it is getting out there syndicated to multiple platforms.

And Google is picking these up these platforms, Business Innovators Radio Network platform is being indexed super well by Google. So now all of a sudden look at this when someone Googles him and his business they want to look at his Google resume and of course they’re going to look at his Web site and all the things that we want to make sure it doesn’t look good and attractive and branded. Well yes he’s branding expert. We expect that. But you know what other things that people are kind of looking for consciously is what else is out there. You know let’s see what this interview says and they can listen to some of these interviews some of his Instagram some of his podcast episodes and get a feel and flavor for his authority brand voice.

So this has been a wonderful exercise to go through. I challenge you to do this for yourself.
