Question: do you give money to the homeless you pass on the street when walking or driving around town?
I don’t either….until last week, this guy, Leo, really caught my attention!

My family and I just got back today from 7 days in Washington DC seeing all the historic monuments and museums (crazy hot & humid, we loved getting back to Colorado!) We walked almost everywhere and passed many, many homeless, but as we approached this guy, I noticed the message on the cardboard he was holding that said “self-published author, can you help?”

Of course since I help Entrepreneurs, Coaches and Consultants with Authority Positioning and one of my packages includes getting published, I was intrigued, so we stopped to chat with him. Turns out he had a stack of his books there about his story of surviving on the street, so I bought one (for $10)…..so even if I were to have given money to a homeless guy I passed on the street, it definitely would not have been $10! I’d love to see a study on how his money received increased once he started using his book!

Anyway, you can see his personal note to me he wrote after I bought it and rather than just throwing it in my pile of books to read later, I read it in before we finished our trip. As you can imagine, it was not perfect grammar and the formatting needed help, but it was his genuine story of living on the street (really eye-opening!)

The key lesson really tied to the title and homeless lives (as with ALL life) matter!
